- Bintan is an easy weekend from Singapore: ferries run from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and take about an hour, so it works even with small children.
- Bali is roughly a two-and-a-half-hour flight from Singapore — base yourself in one or two areas (Ubud plus a beach area) instead of changing hotels every night.
- Traffic in Bali is slow; plan fewer stops per day than the map suggests, especially with kids.
- Nusa Penida's roads are rough and the viewpoints involve steep steps — a day trip is tiring for young children, so consider staying overnight or choosing fewer spots.
